The New Arab recently published a 10-month-long investigation into how international non-profit crowdfunding has been benefitting violent Israeli settlers since October 7 last year. We revealed how millions in taxpayers’ money from Western countries, as well as Israel itself, have been poured into non-profit organisations that use these donations to acquire gear for armed and paramilitary illegal Israeli settlers. As part of the investigation, we sifted through countless documents and spoke to various experts, including 7amleh advocacy manager Jalal Abukhater and Israeli human rights lawyer Eitay Mack. Here are snippets of what they had to say.

Among the settlements receiving aid from these non-profit organisations are some of the most infamous for violence and extreme far-right ideology. All this was made possible via the internet and gaps in non-profit or sanction regulatory enforcement across borders.
