Al Mayadeen's correspondent Ali Mortada reported that Israeli occupation forces have only advanced up to 1.7 kilometers into Lebanese territory, with the deepest points they've reached being Rub Thalathine and Qawzah in South Lebanon, where they were confronted with Resistance fighters. Despite these advances, much of the terrain they initially occupied was already considered military fallen, where "some areas are within towns and on roads overlooking occupied Palestinian territories, thus hidden from the Lebanese side." Mortada noted that the IOF's tactic is one they followed back in the 1970s when they invaded Lebanon, which focuses on reaching high ground, aiming to gain dominance in firepower over everything below.
