Different Kind of Cleverness.

(Source: Solusi magazine, issue no. 16, 2010)

One day a professor crossed the river by taking a sampan(simple boat made of wood) paddled by a sampan boatman. At the middle of the river, the professor asked: "Do you know how to read and write?"

"No. I'm illiterate," Answered the boatmen.

"If that's so, you have lost half of your life. People who can't read or write can be thought as losing half of their ability to live."

Not long after that, the professor asked again: "Did you have any savings in bank?"

"No. My salary is only enough for life needs."

"If that's so, you lost half of your life. There's no way a person with no saving can live comfortably in his old years."

The sampan continued to move.

Then, the sampan got leaked. Water was rushing to came in and the sampan almost sank. The boatmen asked the professor: "Sir, do you know how to swim?"

"Err, err..I don't know," replied the professor panicly.

"If that's so, you'll lose all your life!"

Lesson: God didn't create humans with stupidity. Instead, He created them with different kinds of cleverness. Each of us must identify where our cleverness and enhance it to the maximum level. Don't despise yourself but try to build your confidence. Allah created each of us to succeed.
